Barry Quinn

Barry has worked in the field of cancer and palliative care for over 30 years as a clinician, researcher and educator. He is a senior lecturer at Queen’s University, Belfast, United Kingdom. He is the chair of two European expert groups ‘Managing Advanced Cancer Pain Together’ (MACPT), exploring a more holistic approach to managing pain, and the ‘European Oral Care in Cancer’ (EOCC), an expert group of clinicians working in the field of oncology to address oral complications arising from disease and treatment. Barry completed his PhD in 2012 exploring the search for meaning in advanced disease. His research, published articles and book chapters include leadership, spirituality, pain and symptom management, treatment toxicities, oral care and end of life care.

Barry is the consultant editor for a leading UK nursing journal and reviews articles for nursing and medical publications.
