Biography

Rachel Mugnai is a Nurse Adviser at Target Ovarian Cancer. Rachel provides information and support to anyone affected by ovarian cancer through the charity’s nurse-led support line. She also supports the development of award-winning patient information and engages with Clinical Nurse Specialists to advance the care received by women with ovarian cancer across the UK.

In previous roles Rachel has worked as both a Clinical Nurse Specialist and Clinical Trials Nurse in gynae oncology. She has experience in providing holistic, evidence-based care to women with ovarian cancer and their families and providing nurse-led follow up services.

Biography

Philippa Jupp BNURS MSc, qualified as a nurse in 2007 from the University of Birmingham. Since qualifying she has spent 12 years working within oncology, initially at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital before moving to the Royal Marsden Hospital in 2009. She has held various roles in oncology, focusing on systemic anti-cancer treatment and acute oncology before being appointed Advanced Nurse Practitioner for Gynaecology Medical Oncology. Philippa gained an MSc in Advanced Practice (Cancer Care) in 2015 and has been a non-medical prescriber since 2013.

Biography

Nafisa Patel has a BSc in Nursing and is a Gynae/Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist based at the University Hospitals of Leicester. She has been in her current role for 10 years. Her background includes Chemotherapy Nursing and Gynae/Oncology research. She has some publications to her name and has been involved in oral presentations at both BGCS and cancer charities.

Biography

Andreia has been working at The Royal Marsden Hospital since 2003 and became a Clinical Nurse Specialist in gynaecology-oncology in 2008. In 2010 she completed a Masters’ degree at Kings College London, undertaking a dissertation that looked at the correlation of vaginal symptoms and quality of life in women previously treated for cervical cancer.

She now leads the team of Clinical Nurse Specialists and Nurse Practitioners in Gynae-oncology at the Royal Marsden. Her clinical interest lies in assessing and managing women with complex consequences of cancer and its treatment, and promotion of self-management strategies.

Andreia received the Lynn Adams award for Leadership and Innovation in Cancer Nursing in 2016 for her work in appraising the value of Health and Well-Being events for women with endometrial cancer. She has presented at national and international conferences and continues to actively participate in service development initiatives and research in the field of gynaecology-oncology.
